A date for your diaries - WEDNESDAY, 21st November - CHEPSTOW Racecourse

Peter has decided to run all three Club horses at Chepstow on this date. Get an Oscar and Awesomedestination will run in a Maiden Hurdle and Dr. Dunraven will run in a 2 mile 3-furlong Handicap Chase.

Peter has worked the three horses over the last few days and he is extremely happy with all three. Patience is needed with Get An Oscar andAwesomedestination as they are both young horses and Peter is keen not to overdo things at this stage. As I have said previously, both need time to develop, but Peter is very pleased with the way they are taking to their work at home.

Get An Oscar needs to gain confidence on the track, but she is an exciting prospect for the future, and Awesomedestination, who was very very backward and green at Ffos Las, needs 3-4 runs to develop. Also, a  step up in trip afterwards should see him at his best.

Dr DunravenPeter is delighted with Dr. Dunraven, and he did a lovely piece of work yesterday ... hopefully, he will stay sound, continue working well and be spot on for Chepstow. The trainer is confident he will be very competitive for his first run for the yard.

I will keep you updated on all three horses over the next week or so!

The Peter Bowen Racing Club are sponsoring a race at Ffos Las on Sunday, and if you are going (we are trying to obtain a couple of tickets) can you please leave me know as I would like to offer one or two of you, a chance to present the winners prize to the lucky owners. Can you leave me know asap please and I will pick two Members out of a

Peter is trying to work out a free(ish) morning in his busy schedule for the Members to come along to the Yet-y-Rhug stables and enjoy some time at the yard. It will give everyone a chance to meet the trainer and his staff, as well as seeing our horses work on the gallops. As soon as I can get a date from Peter I will leave you know. It will probably start at about 9am until 12 midday.

I am currently working on the second Newsletter, and this should be with you some time next week.
