The first Club horse is a 4 year old filly called Get an Oscar. Having won a Point to Point when trained by Peter’s son, Mickey, this 4 year old chestnut filly won her second race under Rules when winning a Hexham bumper under Sean Bowen. This daughter of Getaway is being readied for a jumps campaign which promises to give Members a chance of getting to the Winner’s Enclosure in the Club’s colours.

Peter says: "This is one the most exciting young horses we have at home and she is burning up the gallops at present .... we are very happy with her and look forward to seeing her on the track very soon!!"

The second Club horse is a 5 year old gelding called Awesomedestination. He came second in a Point to Point when trained by Peter’s son Mickey, earlier in the summer. He has been backward and green, but is beginning to mature and has blossomed lately. We are hoping he wins a bumper, and before going hurdling. He is expected to give Club members a good day out at the races over the winter.

Peter says: This is another exciting prospect who has been backward, but is starting to flourish under the guidance of everyone at the Yard. We are very happy with the way he is progressing.

Peter and Karen have said that because Awesomedestination especially, is going to be a long-term project, that they were going to the sales this week to buy a horse for the Club. They have returned to the yard with Dr. Dunraven and he is immediately put into the Club. The 7 year old was bought out of the Doncaster Sales from Martin Keighley stable, and is rated 112 (chase) and 107 (hurdle). He has been placed in 7 of his last 9 races, but Peter reckons he can work his magic on him. He is a well bred individual!

Peter says: "We are extremely happy with Dr. Dunraven and look forward to seeing him in action very shortly, most probably at Chepstow"
