Our Team and Our Jockeys

No enterprise can be successful without a strong and dedicated team behind them. We are fortunate to have such a team and this page will give you the chance to meet them.

SEAN BOWEN -  Jockey

Sean won the coveted title of Leading Conditional Jockey of season 2014-2015 after a battle that went down to the final day of his first season as a professional. He is the youngest ever winner of this title following in the footsteps of the sport's greatest names.

Sean won two "Lesters" at the prestigious 2015 awards night. He was voted Conditional Jockey of the Year by his fellow jockeys, and was winner of the Jump Ride of the Year in a public vote. This recognition followed a successful career in pony racing and pointing. Then, still an amateur, Sean won on his first ever ride under Rules, and followed up with a win on one of his father's runners in his mother's colours. Sean had previously won the Wilkinson Sword awarded each year to the leading UK novice rider in point to points.

EMMA REES - Head Girl:

Hails from Rosemarket from a "horsey" background.  Her Mum was an eventer, who competed at  the Badminton Horse Trials.  Emma clocks up thousands of miles each year driving horses to the races and supervising runners - her favourite part of the job, as well as her regular stable duties and riding work.  Wins countless awards for 'Best Turned Out horse'.

After success in pony racing, has now graduated to a full-time work rider, as well as training point to pointers, with a memorable treble success last season at Lydstep. Very stylish on the gallops. Mickey is also a dedicated follower of the form-book.

RHYS BEYNON - Work Rider

21 year old Rhys hails originally from Pembroke Dock

Clare lives just down the road from our stables in nearby Letterston.

Away from his profession, Anthony is a keen golfer.

Special mention to our secretary Amanda Clifford, and Jo Stephens in Financial Administration

Our Jockeys

As well as our stable jockeys, we also use various riders depending on who is available, including most frequently:

A regular rider for the yard, with over 100 winners on our horses,  most famously twice winning Aintree's historic Topham Trophy over the National fences on Always Waining. Tom was on the sidelines for almost six months after breaking a leg at Hereford just days after triumphing on stable winner Quattrocento on the Ffos Las opening night. Tom's many friends in Pembrokeshire were thrilled to see him come back to win the Welsh National on Dream Alliance for trainer Philip Hobbs. The 24 year old nephew to the great Irish trainer Aidan, burst on the scene in 2006/7 when he set a new record for a conditional jockey  with 107 winners, and was so, so narrowly beaten in the Grand National on our horse Mckelvey in his first ride in the great race.

JAMIE MOORE   Jamie has over 400 jumps winners to his name, including 30+ for us in recent seasons, including the 2014 Scottish Grand National on Al Co. He's based in Sussex where his father Gary, himself a former jockey, trains both jumpers and flat horses. Brother Ryan is a former champion jockey on the flat, and younger brother Josh also rides jumpers. Jamie, a former champion conditional, smashed two vertebrae in a fall when he just 19. Today he's renowned for his strong and persistent riding style
